What It Means To Me

To me being a small business owner , means that there are no days off, no calling in sick, no passing the the buck or passing blame, you are the the Sole beginning  and Ending  of what your company represents . I can only imagine what it would be like to leave the hustle and bustle of a 9-5 comfort zone it can make you lazy at times cause knowing that you have the check coming in bi-weekly or every week  . I often say to my self (Aaron Lace Up Your Boots AND CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN) and you may have to climb that mountain alone but there maybe those who choose to watch from the side lines who wish to watch you fail or those who pray for your success . Knowing that giving up is not an option for me I rise and I keep moving forward even though I may not know whats a head I have to keep focus on the mission . I learned to set short term goals for my self just to keep me on point and focused . The only thing I fear is giving up on my self and that cant happen I wont allow it !

Just the another night I was watching Shaft looking all cool with his perfectly cropped Afro, fitted leather trench coat had bit of a attitude and no matter how much Sh*^ came his way he handled it and never once did he give up on doing what needs to get done and he knew he had to do the rite thing not to say that I am shaft  lol but I know what needs to get done. I think back to when I first started SOUL INK 6 years ago I knew it would be a up hill battle but for what ever reason I stayed the course and I can honestly say I am glad that I did .

Are We At War (when will this war end)

Have we worn out the fabric that bounds us together is it forever stained worn and torn that we cant love each other anymore?The passion we personified glorified have we abandoned and gave up on  our most powerful asset ? We act as if we are opponents combatants on the chess board of life in reality we each others protector, lovers & providers .

Now I know for a fact I speak for a large number of Black men and I will say this we love you and we need you Black woman, for so many years we've fell victim to the stereotype that all black men and women do is make each others lives difficult we  spend  so much time trying to undermine each other it  takes away from our foundation it erodes our spirit and it derails the quest that we should be on together .

A friend/mentor  once told me that if a couple cant struggle together then they cant be together , a stain can remain for a time it can be washed away but once the fabric is torn its torn ,  it can be sewed back together again but you will always know that at some point that the fabric was torn, inner strength can keep the fabric of love and can remain  strong for years .
(this was on my mind the whole Qtrain ride home this evening I had to get it off my mind)

Hello Facebook Family

 On December 1, 2011  8:00 am  I will Re-Start the KICK STARTER  SOUL INK NEW YORK project this time I will be extending it to 60 days . My goal will be  $2,500 or more this will give me the opportunity to increase  inventory and help with marketing and bringing  forth more ideas and concepts your pledges will help make this happen . You can pledge $1,$5,$15,$25,$50 none of your  pledges will be debited until the set amount is reached on the last day of of the project .

 Many of us have a false vision and understanding of what running a business is , going down to the county clerks office and registering your company name  does not make you a business owner  .  From personal experience I know that it takes a lot of sleepless nights and self sacrifice in the end it will be worth it . When broadcasting to the world that you are trying to sell a product every thing you say and do you better do , your word will speak volumes . You will  have walk eat sleep and still have a clear vision for your company no one can tell it better than you .
